Snöball’s product enables users to create fully brand-able landing pages, email campaigns and social media posts to generate digital marketing assets for speakers, sponsors & attendees to help promote themselves as well as the event they’re part of.

Rachel Stephan is the founder & CEO of Snöball. As a former creative director and event marketing expert she focuses on building a great experience and a sticky brand that’s personable, relatable & likeable.
The idea behind the brand is that marketing messages for any event, virtually, hybrid or in-person, can be snowballed when attendees, speakers & exhibitors share their participation and messages and invite others. This, as a result, creates the Snöball effect.
With a small team working in marketing, sales & development, Rachel needed an additional design team that could help her bring her ideas to life and refresh the existing brand.
Rachel turned to Design Buffs to get on-demand help from a team of professional creatives and illustrators so she could turn things around fast without needing to overload her in-house designers.
One of the first design tasks was the creation of a new brand mascot for Snöball, a friendly and personable Yeti. The goal was to create various custom illustrations that would convey the different messages educating the audience about the power of word-of-mouth. These assets would be used on the Snöball website and other sales and marketing collaterals to help with conversion.
In addition, Rachel needed custom-made animations that would demonstrate the Snöball effect, also incorporating the brand mascot.
Furthermore, Rachel also needed help with the design of a new sales demo presentation deck and a website redesign to help turn visitors into leads.
Rachel signed up for a Design Buffs subscription and was immediately introduced to her virtual creative team consisting of Andy (Illustrator), Shannen (UI/UX designer), Xyla (Animator) & Josh (Digital Designer).
After sharing her brand guidelines with the team and submitting the creative brief via Design Buffs project management tool, the team could get to work.
Design Buffs started working on the first designs for the Yeti illustrations and shared the first drafts within 48 hours.
While the illustration needed some further tweaking, the team had already started auditing the existing website and making suggestions for improvements.
Snöball has grown into a well-known brand in the events & event tech industry. The company still uses Design Buffs to get the extra help to design assets that help market and sell the product.
